Trade Envoy Visit to Zambia

This week, I have been leading a UK delegation to Zambia, the country of my birth, as Trade Envoy to Southern Africa. This visit centred around the launch of a $300m development investment platform for small and medium sized companies that is being funded by the UK through British International Investment.

I was honoured to speak alongside and meet with Zambia’s President Hichilema to set out the UK’s offer of partnership for sustainable development, both at this platform launch and the next day’s opening of the Invest Zambia Conference. I have left with renewed energy and ambition for the mutual benefits we can achieve through trade and investment in Zambia and the wider region.
