Letter: Supporting Young People in Supported Housing

Ahead of the Budget, I wrote to the Chancellor to raise concerns about how the benefits system is structured for young people in supported accommodation.

During a recent visit to Centrepoint in Leytonstone, staff and residents highlighted how the interaction between Housing Benefit and Universal Credit can create a ‘cliff edge’, meaning some young people end up worse off as their working hours increase.
