Misuse of fireworks speech

Misuse of fireworks have had horrific impacts in our constituency, whether on pets, through antisocial behaviour and criminality, or on vulnerable people such as veterans living with PTSD.
I recently joined a petition debate in Parliament on this issue and spoke in support of the case for stronger regulations. I raised the story of a constituent who was chased down the road with her small children by a group throwing fireworks, causing understandable trauma.
In response, the Minister made clear that she had heard our concerns, and would be pressing for better regulations with urgency. I support both more enforcement of existing laws and regulations, and stronger regulations on issues including the maximum noise level of fireworks and when they can be sold.
