It’s been a busy October! Here’s some of what I’ve been up to 👇
• Had a productive meeting with Transport for London
leadership about the new bus routes. 🚌
• Advocated for the rebuild of Whipps Cross Hospital.
• Discussed local anti-social behaviour & crime with the Commissioner of the
Met Police, local police leaders & the Policing Minister through a debate I secured in Parliament.
• Lobbied for Waltham Forest Council’s housing plan, aiming for 1,500 new homes. 🏘️
• Met with the Minister for Roads to address driving test touts.
• Engaged with Middle East Minister for action against violence in Gaza, the West Bank, and Lebanon. 🌍
• Met with the Palestinian Ambassador to discuss ongoing issues.
• Recognised #BlackHistoryMonth with ex-military friends and parliamentary colleagues. ✊🏿
• Secured election to the Defence Select Committee.
• Visited Noor Ul Islam, Belmont Park Schools, and Leyton Sixth Form College. 🏫
• Explored the amazing work at Good Shepherd Studios!
• Attended Harrow Road Surgery's patient participation group meeting to learn about their challenges.
• Visited Lee High Road Mosque and attended Tuesday surgery at Leytonstone Holy Trinity. 🕌
• Participated in the Redbridge Live #YouthDemocracy Event. 🗳️
