Northcote Arms Meeting

Ahead of Small Business Saturday, I caught up with Tuesday, the publican at the Northcote Arms in Leyton, to discuss the challenges facing our pub sector and what more can be done to support small businesses like the Northcote.

The Northcote is just one example of the many independent pubs, businesses, and brewers across our constituency that play such an important role in our local economy and community. Supporting them matters.

I’m pleased that this Labour Government is taking action to make that support real, for example, by ending late payments so small firms can focus on growth rather than chasing invoices and by permanently lowering business rates for high street pubs, shops and cafés, giving them the breathing space they need to thrive.
