I welcome the Foreign Secretary’s strong condemnation of Israel’s actions, the suspension of trade talks and sanctions on the extremist settler movement. I hope that our joint statement with France and Canada, issued last night, will further step up pressure on Israel.
The horror in Gaza must end - we need full humanitarian access, a return to the ceasefire, the release of all hostages, and real progress toward a two-state solution.
The Israeli government cannot be allowed to permanently force the displacement of civilians. I will continue to do all I can to support an end to this indefensible situation.
