Stepping down as Chair of the Prostate Cancer APPG

As a result of my appointment to government, I am having to step down as Chair of the Prostate Cancer APPG. However, my final appearance turned out to be a very positive one!

I was invited to join a roundtable, hosted by Deputy Prime Minister David Lammy MP, alongside the Health Secretary James Murray MP, to discuss the disproportionate impacts that prostate cancer has on Black men, and the actions the government is taking to address this.

It was so valuable to be part of this discussion, which celebrated the recent announcement that all eligible Black men will be invited to take part in the TRANSFORM trial, which is a really important step forward towards screening. Equally we discussed how much further there is to go.

This was also a great opportunity to thank and highlight the Black men, many directly impacted by prostate cancer, who continue to raise awareness and campaign for change so effectively as health leaders.
