Update on Wanstead High School development

I visited the Wanstead High School site again this month, as I'd promised residents an update. I met with Cllr Rai, Leader of Redbridge Council, to express my deep concern about the ongoing situation, particularly the safeguarding issues and the pressures this has placed on the school's leadership. I received some reassurances from him, and negotiations with a new contractor are now at a critical stage. Once that process concludes, I have a meeting arranged directly with council officials, where I expect to get a fuller picture of the plan of works going forward.
I also wanted reassurance about the pool itself, and Cllr Rai confirmed the Council remains fully committed to the project, recognising how important it is to the local community. Further detail will follow once I've met with officials, and I'll keep residents updated as soon as I know more.
