Meal with Syrian refugees

We can see the problems that need to be fixed in our asylum system. But those who dehumanise and misrepresent refugees undermine progress and only seek to sow division for their own political benefit.

It was wonderful to be invited by a group of Syrian refugees to share their meal and hear about their challenges.

I learned a lot about the brilliant work happening in our community and the welcoming reception provided by Waltham Forest Council and our community.
