Better late than never! Here’s my September 2025 roundup - a look back at some of what I got up to last month. 👇
▪️Convened a meeting of SEND professionals across Waltham Forest and Redbridge to shape the letter to the Minister. 👩🏫
▪️Held talks with the Deputy Director of the Office of Rail & Road on Leyton Temple Mills.
▪️Joined the UK Afghanistan Veteran Community Reception to honour veterans’ service. 🇦🇫
▪️Discussed opportunities for improved EU–UK Youth Mobility.
▪️Called in at Limetree Doctors Surgery to meet healthcare staff and hear about local challenges. 💉
▪️Dropped by the Leytonstone Fire Station to thank crews for their continued dedication.
▪️Spoke at a Labour Movement for Europe campaign event on the importance of UK-EU cooperation. 🇪🇺
▪️Delivered a series of face-to-face appointment surgeries to support constituents.
▪️Engaged with staff at the Walthamstow Job Centre to discuss employment and training initiatives. 👷♂️
▪️Chaired a roundtable on Leyton Temple Mills rail strategy and investment.
▪️Collaborated with London Sport in Waltham Forest to promote participation and physical activity. 🥎
▪️Engaged directly with residents through a door-knocking session in Leytonstone.
▪️Spoke on a panel event on the importance of humanitarian aid and targeted aid. 📈
▪️Shared ideas at a meeting with Redbridge Council Leader Kam Rai.
▪️Spoke with local business owners during a Wanstead High Street walkabout. 🚶
▪️Held a meeting with EVAW (End Violence Against Women) on tackling gender-based violence in the media.
▪️Met the Ambassador of Jordan to discuss diplomatic cooperation and the situation in Palestine.
▪️Celebrated entrepreneurship at the African Business Group Commons reception. 🌍
▪️Spoke with local leaders at the Waltham Forest Council partnership event.
▪️Met with Education Secretary Bridget Phillipson to discuss improving SEND provision. 🧑🎓
▪️Collaborated with the Franco-British Council on shared security policy goals.
▪️Met Ambassador Husam Zomlot to mark the recognition of the state of Palestine. 🇵🇸
▪️Met with Marie Currie to discuss Palliative Care in Waltham Forest and Redbridge.
▪️Hosted a pop-up surgery at Wanstead Library to hear directly from residents. 📚
▪️Visited a local nursery to discuss early years education and parental engagement.
▪️Visited the 241 Squadron to meet young cadets and learn about their activities. ✈️
▪️Spoke to Shelter and the Renters Reform Coalition on improving the situation for renters in East London.
▪️Held a quarterly meeting with Waltham Forest Leader Grace Williams to review borough priorities.🌳
▪️Joined the Celebration of Creativity, Community & Safer Neighbourhoods event in South Leytonstone.
▪️Visited the South Woodford Islamic Centre to meet with community members.
▪️Participated in panel on the UK Space sector with Labour Tech. 🚀
