As we enter February, I'm reflecting on a productive start to the year. Throughout January, I had the privilege of engaging with numerous outstanding charities and initiatives in our community, while also addressing pressing concerns such as recent issue of criminal vandalism against religious centres. Here's a some of what I got up to this past month 👇
▪ Visited Beaumont Estate to explore a new employment initiative supporting young workers.
▪ Held the FirstPort Group to account at a meeting to represent local leaseholders. 🏢
▪ Met with Minister of State for Secondary Care on the need for urgent Whipps Cross development. 🏥
▪ Met with Leyton Jamia Masjid and groups affected by Islamophobic graffiti.
▪ Visited the Disability and Domestic Abuse Charity Stay Safe East.
▪ Visited Shelter to recognize local volunteers and Mayor of London's homeless initiatives.
▪ Gathered evidence for the Solving the SEND Crisis initiative.📑
▪ Engaged with anti-social behaviour team at York Road to review recent improvements.
▪ Meet with Team UK at RBL event for the upcoming Invictus Games.
▪ Asked the government about the impact of slow implementation of remediation contracts on leaseholders.
▪ Participated in the Holocaust Memorial Ceremony and Signed the Book of Commitment.
▪ Spoke on health and adult social care reform in Parliament.
▪ Went to Cann Hall Ward ASB and Crime panel meeting. 🚨
▪ Presented W14 petition to Parliament. 🚌
▪ Hosted the RAF Ethnic Minorities Network.
▪ Talk to residents in Leytonstone, Wanstead, and Cann Hall about roads and crime.
▪ Took part in the Defence Committee visit to RAF Lossiemouth.
▪ Engaged in discussions on Whipps Cross Redevelopment plans with local leaders.
▪ Got appointed the UK trade envoy to Southern Africa. 🌍
