Parliamentary Question: The Urgent Need for Sanctions on Israel

Over the past days, it’s becoming ever harder to find the words to describe how appalling Israel’s actions have become. I have engaged so frequently with the government about this issue, and I know the efforts of the Minister and diplomats are genuine and heartfelt.

But our words of condemnation are simply not being listened to, and the viciousness we are seeing is becoming horribly predictable. We must be stronger in using pressure to stop the horrors, including sanctions on the extremists in Israel’s government, and finally recognising Palestine as a state.
