Reappointment as Minister for Veterans and People

It is an honour to be reappointed Minister for Veterans and People by our new Prime Minister, and to form part of Wes Streeting’s new team as Defence Secretary. I will continue to give my all in service to those who sacrifice in our defence – servicepeople, families, and veterans.

Building stronger personal connections between the armed forces and the people and places they defend is an integral part of Britain’s rearmament against the intensifying threats we face.

My priorities in securing that remain unchanged: put people first; open the gates to talent and ensure that every person has the opportunity to succeed; honour our obligations to those who have served; and strengthen the connection between our armed forces and the nation they protect.
