Workers Memorial Day

It was good to mark Workers’ Memorial Day with trade unions and constituents in Waltham Forest today. We paid tribute to those who have tragically lost their lives whilst simply going to work, both in Leyton and Wanstead and throughout our country.

This includes Ekarmanjeet Singh, killed in 2023 when a roof collapsed on a Leytonstone construction site, and Jorge Ortega, a dedicated transport worker, murdered while doing his job at Ilford Station last December.
