From ASB Forums to talking climate change with constituents, July was a busy month. Here is some of what I got up to:
Facilitated two public Anti-Social Behaviour Forums in Redbridge and Waltham Forest.
Urged the Foreign Secretary to consider sanctions on Israel’s Defence Minister.
Held a meeting in Parliament with FirstPort to tackle spiralling charges affecting local leaseholders.
Raised concerns in Parliament about illegally modified e-bikes and their role in mobile phone theft.
Led a UK trade delegation to Zambia and met with Zambia’s President.
Participated in a UK-Germany defence conference, discussing ways to enhance European defence cooperation.
Judged the brilliant student projects at the Viasat ‘Space for Good’ competition.
Engaged with constituents at the Act Now Change Forever Climate Change lobby.
Spoke with the team at TSB Leytonstone branch about local services
Spoke in Parliament about the importance of BBC World Service funding and press freedom.
Spoke at a Panel event with the Polish Embassy on European Defence and Security.
Convened local ward meetings at Grove Green and Wanstead Park with councillors to improve casework coordination.
Tabled parliamentary questions and wrote to the Government supporting medical evacuation for Palestinian children.
Met inspiring youth groups at Pastures Youth Centre and supported Space 4 All activities.
Marked the anniversary of the 7/7 bombings in Parliament with reflection and commitment to security.
Hosted a Business Forum on Wanstead High Street, hearing directly from local traders and police about shoplifting, vandalism, and street safety.
Celebrated our constituency’s Air Cadets during a Parliamentary debate.
Raised grave concerns in Parliament about the Gaza Humanitarian Foundation and starvation in Gaza.
Held a local Labour fundraiser at Stone Mini Market.
Spoke with International Air Cadets about Parliament and my time in the RAF.
Asked the Secretary of State for Transport about expanding rail maintenance capacity at Temple Mills depot in Leyton.
Visited Salix House to meet residents facing building management issues and anti-social behaviour, pressing for urgent improvements.
Engaged with the Minister for Africa on improving trade and FCDO engagement in Southern Africa.
Met French officials to discuss European security and the situation in the Middle East.
Visited the new M&S in Leytonstone and met their locally hired staff.
Took part in discussions on the future of work with the union Prospect.
Met with the CEO of Lee Valley Tennis and Hockey Centre to raise concerns about the proposed conversion of tennis courts.
