Here’s a look back at some of what I’ve been doing in Parliament, across the constituency, and with the Defence Select Committee in October 🎃👇
▪ Spoke in Parliament on SEND reform and EHCPs, pressing for better support for children and families. 📚
▪ Appeared on LBC – Discussed key issues affecting our Armed Forces and national policy.
▪ Travelled to Ukraine for a week to see conditions first-hand and reaffirm support for their defence. 🇺🇦
▪ Met with Redbridge Future Leaders Programme – a brilliant council-led initiative for youth leadership and civic engagement. 🙌
▪ Held a meeting with the Met Police Commissioner about local policing priorities inc,. ASB and shoplifting. 🚨
▪ Contributed to the Black History Month debate in Parliament, highlighting the service of the Windrush generation.
▪ Joined discussions on the new Leyton Orient Stadium development. ⚽
▪ Attended services at the East London Liberal Synagogue following the Manchester attacks.
▪ Visited NEFLT’s mental health ward to understand local mental health provision in our constituency. 🏥
▪ Visited the 241 Air Cadets!
▪ Hosted a Race Equality Roundtable and report launch. 🗣
▪ Held constituency surgeries to help residents with casework and local issues.
▪ Delivered remarks on the Chagos Island Bill in Parliament.
▪ Hosted Education Secretary Bridget Phillipson in Leytonstone. 🎓
▪ Met with Centrepoint to discuss youth homelessness and their work with young people. 🏠
▪ Participated in a Defence Select Committee visit to Australia, exploring the AUKUS partnership and attending a remembrance service.
▪ Hosted the President of Zambia in Parliament during his UK visit. 🇿🇲
▪ Joined a discussion after the BBC Panorama investigation into Met Police racism and misconduct.
▪ Spoke with Wanstead Village councillors. 🤝
▪ Shared dinner with the Vice President of Gabon to strengthen diplomatic ties.
▪ Canvassed with Grace Williams in Leytonstone.
▪ Participated in the Wanstead Beer Festival. 🍺
