Statement: Attack at Heaton Park synagogue in Manchester

I am deeply shocked and saddened by the attack at Heaton Park synagogue in Manchester today. This horrific act of violence highlights the very real and rising threat of antisemitism impacting communities nationwide, including here in Leyton and Wanstead.

Our local police have assured me that there will be an increased security presence at synagogues throughout our area. Additionally, the Prime Minister has committed to deploying extra police resources to synagogues across the country to keep communities safe.

My thoughts are with the Jewish community under attack on this holiest of days and all those affected by this terrible incident.
