Meeting Leytonstone’s Firefighters and Discussing Community Safety

On Friday, I visited the fire station in Leytonstone to meet with the borough commander and the incredible firefighters who serve our community. I feel very fortunate to have such a dedicated team keeping us safe.

We discussed the recent fires on Wanstead Flats, and I was reassured to hear that the fire stops are helping to prevent the spread of flames.

We kindly urge everyone enjoying the flats to avoid using disposable BBQs and to take care not to leave glass behind, especially on hot summer days, as these can easily start fires.
