Last week I joined a parliamentary roundtable on the growing risk of lithium-ion battery fires in waste and recycling. Battery fires are rising sharply and pose real dangers to workers, services and the environment.

Great to join Deputy Mayor of London for Energy and Environment Mete Cobane for Circular Economy Week - I got to hear from a host of organisations putting sustainability into practice across London.

On Friday, I visited the fire station in Leytonstone to meet with the borough commander and the incredible firefighters who serve our community. I feel very fortunate to have such a dedicated team keeping us safe.
